Robert Nordlund, PE, RS

President

A registered professional engineer, Robert has been involved in the Community Association industry since 1982. Robert founded Association Reserves, Inc. in 1986 and has pioneered many widely used reserve funding concepts. For his expertise, he earned the Community Association Institute’s (CAI) Reserve Specialist (RS) designation and has the distinction of being RS #5. Robert was involved in creating the 1998 National Reserve Study Standards and has greatly influenced the Reserve Study industry. He is a past Chairman of CAI’s Reserve Professionals Committee, past Chairman of the Association of Professional Reserve Analysts, and past President of the Community Association’s Institute (CAI) Greater Los Angeles Chapter. Robert regularly writes on the topic of Reserve Studies and is a frequent speaker in industry-sponsored seminars and presentations throughout the United States. He is often called to serve as an expert witness in litigation involving reserve issues.

Cathy Schrader, PE

Director of Marketing

Cathy Schrader helped co-found Association Reserves in 1986. A registered professional engineer, Cathy designed all of the company’s administrative, production, marketing, and hiring processes. She currently serves as the company’s Director of Marketing & Communications. Prior to forming Association Reserves, Cathy worked for Rockwell International in their Energy Technology Engineering Center and then owned and operated a property management company. She was awarded a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University.

Paige Schauermann

National Marketing Manager

Paige joined Association Reserves in 2012 after graduating from California Lutheran University with a Masters degree in Business Administration. A native of Colorado, she obtained a BS in Business Marketing from the University of Northern Colorado. Her undergraduate education also included a semester at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia. Paige worked in numerous advertising and marketing capacities while attending college. In her role at Association Reserves, Paige serves as the “face” of Association Reserves, promoting our company image and expertise in markets where Reserve Study services are needed and utilized. Her experience with trade show operations, her knowledge of business, and her marketing passion and creativity makes her an excellent addition to our team and an asset to our clients.

David Whann, MBA, RS, EBP

Director of Operations

David Whann, MBA, RS, EBP joined the Association Reserves – FL team in 2016, and now represents Association Reserves as the Director of Operations. A lifelong Florida resident, David obtained both his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of South Florida. He has prepared Reserve Studies for a wide range of property types, from luxury high-rise properties to sprawling single-family home communities. David earned the Community Associations Institute (CAI) designation of Reserve Specialist (RS #369). David’s other responsibilities include the development of internal tools and systems to ensure our studies are accurate, comprehensive, and consistent with the latest industry trends and knowledge.

Annette Perry

Digital Operations Manager

Annette Perry officially became Association Reserves’ Digital Operations Manager in 2024, but her work with the company began much earlier. In 2019, she was key to the development for a portion of Association Reserves’ proprietary systems. Annette brings a wealth of experience in product management, SaaS software development, UI and UX development and cross-functional team leadership. Her expertise in user experience design and the software development lifecycle enables her to implement data-driven solutions for complex challenges. Certified Automation Expert, Annette manages both strategic and technical aspects of digital operations, driving innovation and efficiency across our platforms.

Kali Carreno

Marketing Coordinator

Kali Carreno joined the Association Reserves team in 2024 as a Marketing
Coordinator. Having moved to Tampa, FL from Minneapolis, MN at a young age, she attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business Management.
As a recent graduate, Kali is eager to make her mark in the marketing field. In her role at Association Reserves, she focuses on backend operations and supporting marketing initiatives, ensuring that our services resonate with those in need of Reserve Study expertise. Her attention to detail and organizational skills are essential in streamlining processes and enhancing overall efficiency. Kali’s creativity, enthusiasm, and fresh perspective make her a valuable asset to our team and our clients. In her free time, she enjoys reading and traveling, reflecting her passion for both marketing and personal growth.

Mason Schrader

Operations Coordinator

Mason Schrader joined the Association Reserves team in early 2025, following a 4-year career as a Ticket Sales Account Executive at Charlotte FC, North Carolina’s Major League Soccer (MLS) team. Launched in late 2019, he played a key role in the Club’s establishment and initial years of growth & success. Mason was born and raised in North Carolina, graduating from North Carolina State University in 2021. The son of an architect, Mason’s lifelong exposure to design, construction, and job site visits make him a wonderful fit for our industry. His strong work ethic, attention to detail, and dedication to developing meaningful client relationships will help make Association Reserves stronger. In his free time, Mason enjoys health and fitness, traveling, Notre Dame football, and spending time outdoors!

Jenn Johnson

Executive Assistant

Jenn joined Association Reserves in 2023 as the Executive Assistant after graduating from Sacramento State University. With over a decade of experience in customer service, Jenn has honed her skills in communication and problem-solving, consistently ensuring client satisfaction. Her commitment to excellence extends to one of her roles in helping to manage the company’s podcast, HOA Insights: Common Sense for Common Areas. Jenn is passionate about contributing to the company’s success, always seeking opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and foster a positive working environment. With a proactive approach and a commitment to excellence, she is excited to continue making valuable contributions to the organization’s growth and success.
